Lot description:


Nero. AD 54-68. Æ Sestertius (33mm, 19.65 g, 12h). Uncertain Balkan/Thracian mint. Struck circa AD 63-64. Laureate head right / [DECVR]SIO in exergue, Nero on horse prancing right, with foot-soldier in front advancing right, looking left, holding up vexillum, and a second foot-soldier running behind the horse. For prototype, cf. RIC I 107 and 176; cf. WCN 74 and 110. Fine, green patina, rough surfaces show cleaning marks. Centration mark is clear on both sides.
